I assume that there will

be two distinct offices, viz.,

Crown Counsel and Magistrate, and

I have us objectim to that candidates appointed to

either office will be informed

that they will be required to act

in the other. I am accordingly

proceeding with the selection of

a candidate for the second vacancy

with the title of Crown Counsel,

and he will be informed that he may

be required to carry out the duties

of Magistrate. He will not be

appointed until after the 1st of

January 1940.
